A new member has arrived for the Range Rover in the Name of Velar. The name is derived from the original prototypes of 1969. Its now come a long way in design and innovation since Land Rover launched the original Range Rover back in 1970. This new Model sits between the Evoque and and Range Rover Sport. With a starting price of £44,830 which makes it about £15k cheaper than the entry-level Range Rover Sport. I think this makes this an attractive purchase, that could attract a whole new audience, as well as providing the existing fan base a wider choice.
Velar styling has both genetic traits from the Evoque as well as the full size Range-Rover, with some great new design features’ of its own, such as the Pop out Door Handles, which gives the Velar a flatter streamlined side on view. The rear of vehicle tail-lights offer some similar styling to the Evogue but now stretch across more of the tailgate. At the front the Velar has some very attractive super-slim Matrix Laser-LED headlights.
On the inside things really have a high class touch, with Range Rover debuting state-of-the-art Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, featuring two high-definition 10-inch touchscreens for unrivalled functionality and intuitive operation. The Velar won’t be offered as a seven-seater, but given its specs, this makes it more practical than the Evoque in terms of its size
Another new option from Range Rover is that they will be be offering fabric upholstery as an alternative to the usual leather, not to be confused that this is a cheaper option instead its pitched as an equally premium choice for those who’d rather not go down the leather route.
The velar will be in available in July for the UK
