Ring REUBL1000 Under Bonnet Lamp Review

When you first look at the Ring Under Bonnet Lamp you might be thinking is it just suitable for professional use. We can honestly say during testing that if you do any kind of mechanical work then this should definitely be considered. One of the first things I noticed is how solidly it connects to the underside of the bonnet. Once in place there is no fiddling or having to move the lamp to get the light positioned to where you are working, due to the design stretching across the whole of the under bonnet.

The Ring inspection lamp comes with 3 x 5W LEDs, providing 1000 lumens of light. You have the option of 3 levels of light output. This allows you to select how many of the LEDs you need on. This will also help to increase usage time when not needing to use all of the 3 LEDS. You are not left wanting for brightness either. The 600k colour temperature provides a bright white light. To help get all that light exactly where you require it, the LEDs have adjustable heads allowing you to move them up to 40 degrees. Along with the 60-degree wide angle illumination, this gives you the ability to be able to position the light to virtually anywhere within the engine bay

Another big plus for this unit is although it is a powerful inspection lamp there is no need for constant mains power, helping to avoid those issues that wired lamps can cause. The Ring Under bonnet lamp comes with a Rechargeable 3.7V 10400mAh Li-ion battery. It has a long operating time, allowing up to a full working day of use, before needing to be recharged.

The outer casing is constructed from ABS and Aluminium, it feels really well put together and would withstand constant use without any trouble. If you are looking for an inspection lamp with a long battery life that does not need constant mains power, then this ring inspection light should be on your short list.
